Caden (boy)

• My son's name. My husband had a good friend named Cade. We added an "n" and thought we made it up, then heard it from other people, too.
• (nn Cade) I'm not sure why I like this. I just think Cade sounds nice.
• Caden James James is my grandad's name and he practically raised me so I am partial to it but as a mn only since it is fairly common sounding. Caden "Cade" is a trendy name that is both manly and boyish. I think it will be around for yrs.
• Caden Lane: Caden has that Irish flavor I love, and Cade is a cute nickname. Lane makes a great middle name for almost anything but it goes especially well with Caden.

Caden came into popularity in the late 20th century along with a host of other rhyming names: Aiden, Braden, Jayden, Hayden etc. In modern usage it is probably made up based on sound. However, there is a rare Irish surname Caden, which is an anglicization of Ó Cadáin, deriving from a personal name meaning "salmon." However, this name is usually anglicized Cadden.
